The 5K Road Race is a social tradition for serious and casual runners alike. At 7:40 a.m., Sunday morning, a local exercise group gets the runners ready with a short set of warm-up routines.The race begins promptly at 8 a.m. The race course leads the runners through Historic Downtown Duluth, returning to end at the Festival Center. Complimentary refreshments are provided to the participants while they await the race results. The Festival 5K Road Race Course is USA Track & Field (USATF)-certified as a qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race.
First place awards are presented to men and women competing in 15 different age groups from age 10 (and under) through ages 75 (and over).
Proceeds from the Road Race benefit the Duluth Historical Society and the Historic Strickland House.
